Searching for Muscat Wine? Check Out These Notes
Many people claim that Muscat uniquely produces wine with real grape aromas and flavours. This is a popular variety in Spain and Portugal, where the grape and the recette panna cotta
wines produced from it are referred to as Moscatel or Muscatel. The grape variety has been around for a long time and it produces wines packed with aromas that has captured our imagination for centuries.
It goes by various names: Muscat, Moscato and Muscatel – but all of these refer to the same wine.
Below are some reviews of 3 Muscatel wines:
Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, 2007, France
This is a famous sweet wine made entirely using the Muscat grape variety.
It’s full of peach- and citrus aromas and is so aromatic that your taste buds will be doing a Rumba before it even touches your lips. It is mellow and elegant and it works really well with a panna cotta. Most people will like this one.
Lustau Moscatel de Chipion, Jerez, 2007, Spain
First impression – fabulous! It is a wine with personality, some of it a little cheeky and wild. It most definitely won’t leave you bored and it’s excellent value if you consider what you pay for it.
Tabali Encantado Late Harvest Muscat, 2005, Chile
